With the start of the 2010 B.C. Winter Games now just hours away, athletes, coaches, and officials are pouring into Terrace.

Today marks the busiest day in the history of the Northwest Regional Airport with 15 charter flights arriving from cities across the province.

It all provides for much excitement, especially for the games committee and volunteers which have been planning for months.

Committee President Peter Weeber says so far things are running smoothly with some 1800 volunteers set to help out over the course of the next few days.

But, he adds they're still looking for more.

Anyone interested in lending a few hours of their time can call the games office at 250-635-2010.

The games begin Thursday in Terrace, Kitimat and surrounding area, with practice sessions for all events -- as well as the opening game of the girls hockey tournament at 2pm Thursday afternoon (Kootenay versus Fraser Valley).

When he's not visiting Bert's Deli or stealing pens from work, Ryan is beating on people who wear socks with their sandals and dreaming of meeting Red Green one day. The rest of the time he's on the radio.
